NNAS assessment for Lower 6th

Depleted numbers today due to illness and injury, but the three students performed very well in the conditions. Well done

Off into the mist

It was even sunny a little bit

Re-folding the map having caught it with a rugby-style leap

We met some of the army

Then it snowed...

...quite a lot...

...and was windy...

...then snowed, was windy and sunny at the same time

Plymouth College Staff 2 Star assessment

Well done to Mr Bishop and Mr Rees who passed their 2 Star assessment yesterday, it wasn't snowing but it was chilly!

Ready for anything...?!

Sprint Boat

Canoe

Falling in

It's going well

A helping hand

Up

Nicely done

The other way around didn't work so well!

Rigging practice at Bonehill Rocks

Largely clear skies greeted us at Bonehill Rocks today,

We looked at placing boulder mats,

then spotting people while bouldering

We then looked at rigging top ropes

People came up with good systems

and were glad about it

Then we made some more

and then more again

before 'doing it for real' at the edge of the crag and dropping a rope down.

We found the last of the snow left over from the weekend

It wasn't all walking down hill!

Upper 6th climbing refresh

We were at Dart Rock for our climbing refresh, amazing how much was remembered given that the students hadn't been climbing for a year!

They enjoyed the crocodile game the most!

Lower 6th Nav in the snow (showers)

A wintery day on the moor, but with sunshine and stunning views. All the students did very well considering this is their second day of navigation.  Well done and keep it up

Prishamsleigh for Upper 6th BTEC students

Today the Upper Sixth students had a good trip around Prishmasleigh Cavern, looking at route finding, basic rope work and squeezes. Good commitment from all in the tight bits!
